Essa estampa nasceu de uma pergunta técnica: dá para simular bordado sem bordar nada? Fiz tudo no digital, inclusive os pontos, o relevo do fio e a leve irregularidade de quem costura à mão.
A decisão mais arriscada foi a cor. Marfim sobre marfim, quase sem contraste, porque só o relevo segura o desenho. Como ele funciona, a leitura muda conforme a luz bate na superfície.

This print started from a technical question: can you simulate embroidery without embroidering anything? I built it all in digital, including the stitches, the thread relief, and the slight irregularity of hand sewing.
The riskiest decision was color. Ivory on ivory, almost no contrast, because the relief is the only thing holding the drawing up. Since it works, the read changes as light hits the surface.

Tropical para masculino tem um limite estreito. Se a flor cresce demais ou a cor abre demais, a peça sai da coleção. Por isso comecei pelo fundo, não pela flor: índigo escuro, com a folhagem inteira em azul, quase fundida no próprio fundo.
O coral entra só nas flores. É a única temperatura quente da estampa, e concentrar a cor em poucos pontos deixa a peça vestível para quem não usaria uma tropical inteira colorida.

Tropical for menswear runs on a narrow margin. If the flower grows too big or the color opens too much, the piece drops out of the collection. So I started from the ground, not the flower: deep indigo, with the whole foliage in blue, almost merged into the background.
Coral enters only through the flowers. It is the only warm temperature in the print, and concentrating color in a few points keeps the piece wearable for someone who would not wear a fully colored tropical.

Geo Monstera
Aqui a monstera aparece recortada, não desenhada inteira. Cada folha é um recorte de borda irregular, reto o bastante para ler quase como forma geométrica.
A paleta é curta e fria: azul-acinzentado, ardósia e índigo sobre off-white. Com poucas cores, o que separa uma folha da outra é o recorte, não o contraste. Pede escala grande e não briga com o corte da peça.

Here the monstera shows up cut, not drawn whole. Each leaf is a cut-out with a torn edge, straight enough to read almost as a geometric shape.
The palette is short and cool: blue-grey, slate, and indigo over off-white. With few colors, what separates one leaf from another is the cut, not the contrast. It asks for large scale and does not fight the cut of the garment.
